Ditchling

Ditchling

Beautiful Ditchling is contained within the boundaries of the South Downs National Park and is overlooked by Ditchling Beacon which is one of the highest points on the South Downs. The hill is crossed by a steep road towards Brighton, about 1 mile long at a gradient of 10% (which is part of the London-Brighton cycle route). The South Downs Way long distance footpath also crosses Ditchling Beacon.

There are two public houses within the village, The Bull and The White Horse; two cafes, The Nutmeg Tree and The Green Welly; a post office, florist, delicatessen and many other shops.

Ditchling also has a number of community groups and societies, including the Ditchling Film Society and the Ditchling Singers.
